What is Invisalgn?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that fit over your teeth to slowly shift them into proper alignment over time without bulky braces or metal wires. The aligners are FDA-approved and made of flexible plastic that’s free of BPA, latex, BPS, and gluten. They are invisible, so most people won’t realize you’re wearing the aligners.

After your treatment is complete, your teeth are straighter and more aesthetically pleasing. Invisalign can give you a boost of confidence, improve your bite, and make cleaning your teeth easier.

Am I a good candidate for Invisalign?

Your Strauss Dental provider lets you know if Invisalign is right for you after reviewing your medical and dental history, examining your teeth, and completing dental X-rays. Adults and teenagers are often good candidates for Invisalign, as long as they don’t require extensive dental work.

What should I expect during treatment?

Prior to Invisalign treatment, your dentist uses state-of-the-art iTero® digital scanning technology to map out a digital treatment plan and show you what the end result will look like. A dental lab creates a series of aligners based on the scan. Your dentist offers teeth whitening at the beginning of each Invisalign process.

When the aligners are ready, your Strauss Dental provider ensures they fit properly. Your dentist monitors progress over time to ensure optimal results, and makes adjustments when necessary.

Wear your aligners 20-22 hours a day, and switch to a new set of aligners every week or two. Attend regularly scheduled dental appointments every four to six weeks during Invisalign treatment.

On average, it often takes 12-18 months to reach the desired outcome. Each treatment plan is personalized just for you.

What happens after Invisalign treatment?

After Invisalign treatment is complete, your dentist gives you a retainer to ensure your teeth stay in their new alignment long term. Attend routine follow up appointments, teeth cleanings, and exams at Strauss Dental to maintain your beautifully straight teeth and smile.

If crooked or misaligned teeth make you self-conscious or are hard to keep clean, don’t settle. Schedule an Invisalign consultation with Strauss Dental over the phone or online today.
